Egocentrism

This criterion determines the degree to which a person is self-absorbed. In a relationship, it shows how well partners are able to take into account each other's needs and desires. The egocentrism of each person in a couple determines the vector along which the relationship will develop. The higher the difference in the partners' egocentrism, the more likely it is that the relationship will not be harmonious. People with a high degree of egocentrism often demand excessive attention and are less attentive to their partners. A low level of egocentrism indicates that a person in a relationship will give more than receive. The optimal balance in a relationship is when the egocentrism score of both people is approximately the same with a difference of no more than 40%. In this case, both partners will not forget about themselves and will take their loved one into account.
